The Black Hawks by David Wragg

I enjoyed Black Hawks and found it to be an entertaining read but it didn't live up to the 'merc' marketing hype. Having the same cover designer as Nicholas Eames books and Rob J Hayes Never Die almost guarantees it will have that feel from the cover alone. Add to that the title and the description and they are pretty much telling you exactly what kind of book it will be. Except it isn't. It's much more classic fantasy tbh with a child being kidnapped and surviving a motley crew rather than us really getting into the nitty gritty of a group of paid killers. I will probably pick up the sequel. 7/10
