Three books you should buy this January
There are a couple of books you NEED to buy this January if you want to start the year off with a bang. Your credibility as a reader could be at stake and if someone comes up to you looking for a recommendation you don’t want to be that guy talking about literature that everyone else has already read. OMG, like, can you imagine???
Golden Son by Pierce Brown is releasing on Jan 6. It's the best book I have read in a looong time and an 'I just crapped my pants it's so good' amazing follow up to Red Rising, the first book in what is a massive trilogy. Pierce Brown absolutely deserves the accolades he is receiving as the books author and the creator of this intensely detailed and imaginative universe. This book wont just entertain you, it will get in your head and demand a symbiotic relationship that leaves you writhing in agony as you wait for the sustenance you need to continue living. That sustenance has now been given the title of Morning Star, the final book in the series, which is coming in 2016.

Providence of Fire by Brian Staveley releasing on Jan 15th. This is another smashing second book in a series, The Unhewen Chronicle, that has signalled a new author just bulldozing his way into the genre. There is so much to love about the characters and the writing that this is bound to be a big hit. I remember thinking it was the Empire Strikes Back of books, such was it’s tone, its crushingly good developmental moments and the way it left me feeling. One of my favourite elements of this book was that the very things I thought The Emperor’s Blades lacked were found in abundance throughout it’s sequel.

Firefight by Brandon Sanderson releasing on Jan 8th. Sanderson is a master of the genre and seems to consistently put out high quality stories almost as quickly as we can read them. The Reckoners Series is a side project but a thrillingly good one that hits completely different buttons of excitement and action to his other series. He
Again it is Mysterious Galaxy with the win. $18.99 is too good to pass up. He will be signing there on the 20th of January so you can expect your book to arrive early February I’d say.
